Using a real Japanese bow as the interface for games

The Light Shooter, created by Masasuke Yasumoto at the Tokyo University of Technology, is a first person shooting game which makes use of a real Japanese bow as the interface.

The goal of our research is to let people know what the real thing feels like. Players use an actual Japanese bow, so they can really experience what Japanese archery feels like.”

Don’t wash your chicken

A common misconception when preparing chicken for cooking is the need to rinse the poultry with water before it is cooked. In fact, the USDA recommends that you do NOT wash your chicken, as it increases the risk of spreading bacteria around the kitchen. Dr. Jennifer Quinlan helped to develop the “Don’t Wash Your Chicken” campaign, as a creative way to inform people about this mishandling.
